mindset : Building Block for the development

Hi All,

Mindset of the people of a society is a building block for the development of the place. A right mindset with the necessary and sufficient manpower can create wonders and human race has seen many example of this. A good mindset doesn't come for free, nothing in fact is free. It requires a vision, dedication and a hunger to develop to set the someone's mindset towards success. Obviously its a pain-in-the-neck to make all these so called great words a reality and we lazy Indians believe in working without pain and try to find some alternative path to do the work.

Not only the government machinery but the private companies and organization and even the premier institutes of India (I am not concerned with world as I am unfamiliar with the situation outside India) are facing the problem of right mindset of its people. People do the work not to develop the place, their own organization, as a whole but to make sure that they get their pond of flesh. They use their position to hinder the path of one who is trying to do something productive but has to obey his / her boss's orders. This productive person, although having right mindset, sometimes is influenced by the non-doers and due to their pressure even becomes one of them. Sadly but truly I myself have seen some examples like this and I am sure that many of you must have seen one by yourself too.

Changing the mindset is not an easy task. As said, one's habbit can't be changed or in some other words you can't make any person agree on some point if he isn't even ready to talk to you. Any development, any thing and really a-n-y t-h-i-n-g can be done being a right mindset has come to you. Its you who has to develop his mindset on the way of success. Its no one else for you but you who can do this for yourself.

My new year resolution is also the same, i.e. to decide my plan of action and set my mindset for it ;).

Signing off
Wishing you all dear readers a very happy new year in advance.

Getting Ready For The Jobs Ahead Of Me

Hey Guys,

What's going on ? Here the new semester has already started at my insti. Gosh ! This is the last one here and my undergraduate college life will come to an end after around 4-5 months from now... will definitely gonna miss this place.

Anyways, looks like this semester is having lots of work for me to do (apart from usual masti ofcourse :D)... planning to go out for a tour too (not scheduled yet)... and yes, my new time pass, my guitar is also adding to the thrilling last few months here ;).

Am going to write some article on this blog very soon but till then just have a look at this news as it is expected that KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) is going to bring around 3,00,000 jobs here in India as India emerges as a leader in s/w arena and the report by 'Global Sourcing Now' says that KPO business is supposed to touch $17 billion by 2010 and India will have a share of around 70 % i.e $12 billion... pretty cool huh.

Bbye

Delhi schools go beyond birds and bees

Hi All,

An article in today's (24th November, '05) Times of India, Delhi Edition says that the capital schools are getting all together a whole new course on 'life skills' under the adolescene education program - Yuva - with Sehwag as brand embassador and a theme song by the band Euphoria as a gift on the advent of this new year. The course is aimed to discuss those topics with students who either startle them or are not discussed at all because they are considered taboo.

Every effort has been made to deal with the course in a completely new perspective which apart from generating the interest in the student will also be very informative and helpful in their day-to-day life. The course is for the students of VIth standard and above. A glimpse of the topics to be discussed in it is as follows:

  • What to do if there was a bomb threat.
  • A world without women
  • Awareness about child abuse, bad touch and good touch.
  • cultivating a positive body image (examples are some of the big faces of bollywood etc).
  • ... If a man had uterus.
  • If there were no clothes for anybody.
  • Modules on HIV Aids, Sex education etc etc
In the course of making the subject more interesting to the students the Topics of the chapters are also made like Pyaar Vyaar and Peer Presure ; Kya Khayen, Kya Na Khayen, Ye kaisei Mushkil Hai etc. Follow the link to the news by clicking here.

I wish I could have studied one such course like this :P

Face of the News

Hi All,

News, in the crude sense stands for North-East-West-South ( atleast i interpret it like that only ':-)' ) And the responsibility of News Channels, News Papers and Magazines etc is to make news available to the people living in the different part of the globe. People related to news channel work 24x7 to gather the information, edit them and make them presentable for the general public to read. Hence the life of the people involved with the business of news is very tough and hectic. It’s already a long time since the first news paper was published in India (pre-independence) and post-independence Indians are maintaining this business all by themselves. Over the year news-paper (and later on channels) have earned a respectable position in the society and a lot of the people believe that what is shown or told there is right i.e. the impact on these people is so deep that some people will bet anything based on the news and opinion of the news-papers and channels. Hence the print and e-media hold a very responsible role and position in the society.

The purpose of writing this blog is to point out certain crucial changes in the Indian print and e-media that has been brought in due period of time and how is it affecting people’s opinion.

As we all know that over the period of time the news channels have evolved from half and hour news daily to 24x7 news channel. Earlier this decision was welcomed by the mob of having 24x7 news channel as then the people were confirmed of having much more detailed coverage to certain important news. But the system, in fact, have evolved to the one in which the private life of individuals are getting affected more and more and instead of just providing the news which is their duty, the channels are also trying to build up the opinion of public in one way or other. Take for an instance the programs that are well recognized: sansani on star news, crime reporter on zee news, vardaat on aaj tak, all these programs deals with the crime done in the country and making people aware of the criminal, something which was done by India's Most Wanted by Suhaib Iliyasi sometime back. On one hand Suhaib's program was more informative and formal in the sense that they worked as the agent or bridge between the law and order and general public and beware them of the incident that might seem usual but may turn to be a sabotage but on the other hand in these new programs what the anchor looks like is some theator actor or an artist and not a usual news reporter (no offence made but a feeling that comes to mind by watching them)... my question: is this the way a news presented ?

Taking some more instances: Recently there were MMS in news and suddenly a lot of MMS came into picture, surely a big news to show. Shahid-Kareena's smooching scene, DPS MMS clip, Miss Jammu Anara's clip and many other such things came into picture. Agreed that these things do make news but how were these presented in some news channels ? Some of them showed that 10 sec kissing scene for 10 min... now, who has done mistake or the wrong thing ? The stars in news or the news channel itself ? Some way or another, due to increasing compitition in the field or anything else the way information (news) is presented is changing very rapidly and somehow it has started crossing the barrier of information presenter as a whole.

Its not just me or someone like me who has felt the changes in the Indian media but also some of the people who hold a key position in the government also have felt this change. H'ble President of India Dr. APJ Abul Kalam also once in his speech pointed out why its the case that Indian media is so negative ? Why do they show the negative things first and not other development news ? He also said that while his visit to some country a blast occured there but on the news paper published just after the blast it was not the main news but the news of a person who did some research etc (don't exactly rem the thing ':-)' ) was their cover story. So can't this attitude be taken by Indian media too ?

Many many other things are there that I have noticed but I think the feeling I wanted to share with you all is already conveyed. I am not saying that its the duty of us to change Indian media although upto some extent we can but its the duty of these news channels itself not to harm their image and present the things the way they have to be presented otherwise I am afraid that this amiable relationship between the mob and channels may come to an abrupt end. What say you dear reader ?

ek poem... found over net !!!

Ghar se jab tum nikale
pehen ke reshmi gown.
Jaane kitne dilon ka
ho gaya server down...

Jabse meri zindagi mein,
aayi hai ik female.
Bhool gaya hai sab kuchh
kya mailbox, kya e-mail...

Tumhaare intezaar mein
neend aayee so gaya.
Yeh dekho mera connection
time out ho gaya...

Kal jab mile thhe
to dil mein hua ek sound.
Aur aaj mile to kehte hain
your file not found!

Jo muddat se hota aaya hai,
woh repeat kar doonga...
Tu naa mili to apni zindagi
ctrl+alt+delete kar doonga...

Laakhon honge nigaah mein
kabhi mujhe bhi pick karo...
Mere pyaar ke icon pe
kabhi to double-click karo...

Roz subha hum karte hain
pyar se unhe good morning...
Woh aise ghoor ke dekte hain
jaise 0 errors aur 5 warning...

The results are out but not for the public and these guys have played the trick and will anounce the results after the 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi' episode. Had ho gayi hai ab to :D.

Well in my opinion Qazi and Rex may become the fame jodi.... wat say u ?

Metrosexual !!!

Hi all,

Sorry for not writing the blog for so long... but I promise that from now on I'll be more punctual in writing the blogs coz I think that its time to do something productive ;-).

Word of Caution : One of my friend pointed out the other meaning of this word 'metrosexual'... please don't think about the other meaning of the word and read it the way i tried to present :)

Hmm, Metrosexual !!! What do you all know about this word ? Is it another dirty word from those dirty minds ? :D... The answer is 'Big No'. Metrosexual is the person who loves metro city, loves spending time and life in a metro city. But does it mean that the person hates ville life or ville itself ? Honestly I am myself confused about this thing but what I can guess is no. The person loves metro doesn't mean that he hates ville or ville life.... Well lets just leave the topic here itself. Let the more intelligent mind work on this problem and give us the answer :-).

For me, I have spent the maximum amount of my life in a metro city, Delhi, and I somehow feel that I am also a metrosexual coz I love to spend my time in Delhi but fortunately or unfortunately presently I am here in the 'HOLY' city of India, Varanasi for the max of my time (B.Tech. to poori karni hai hi :D).

Now coming to the main point that led me sitting on my comp writing this blog for you all. 'What does any metro has to offer to a normal individual so that he / she becomes a metrosexual ?' whoops... a long debating point, isn't it ? You may not feel this but lets just analyse the thing.

As far as the facilities etc are concerned city has many thing to offer than a ville. Better school and education for children, advanced and sophisticated work environment, better stand-off for a job, better basic facilities such as electricity, water etc. which are obviously lacking if we consider living in a village. Eversince of my childhood I am freaking out to find the answer to the question that according to me will be the first question coming to any child of a metro city that why the hell would anybody want to live in a ville ? What is it that is not present in the city that a village is offering ? I think I am still somewhat confused about the answer, or, 'I Know What The Answer Is' but since I am a metrosexual, I don't wanna know :-). Recently I happen to visit a somewhat developed ville and I noticed one thing that I think didn't come to my mind before. I saw the living of the people there, noticed the state of their mind, mental coolness, way of living, general awareness and their thinking and plan of action to tackle the issues. I noticed that ville life is NOT that far behind of a city life on some counts. Such as in the city we usually remain in a hurry and have much more tension and depression cases as compared to ville "correct me if I am wrong at stats :-)". The mental coolness of an avg. villeite is what I observed was more than a city guy. But at last, I observed a very small segment of the ville and not the whole ville. As far as the general awareness and exposure of the modern and advanced world is concerned, I'll definitely say that a ville person is counting low.

So what is it that'll make a person choose between city and ville life ? It is not the point that a person XYZ is not capable of living a city life had his childhood spent in a ville. No, it can never be a point. I have seen so many example in my life itself that the people coming from ville are not even standing off better but are imparting good and better education alongwith good morals and values to their children as compared to the people who were raised in the city are giving to their children. According to me ANY person IS capable of doing ANYTHING and achieving ANY height of success in his life, it just require a little bit of luck and presence of mind. So, Where Is The Fuss ??? How To Choose ??? And the answer is simple, its the state of mind of the individual that decide on the point of whether one wants to live in a city and be a metrosexual or wants to live in a ville and be a villesexual (a new word proposed by me :P). Its what mind and heart should decide together. Mind may say 'Hey Man !! You don't want to go to the ville and crap your whole life and future' but the heart may say 'No, don't listen to your mind. Go to ville which has your mental peace'. Either way you can go. Its your life and you are the only one who has to decide upon his destiny and who has to decide which way to go. At the end, I'll say only one thing that if you know the answer of the question that WHAT IS THE SUCCESS ??? then you probably know the answer of this question too.

Kher, kafi bore kar diya hai ab tak meine aap logon ko. Its time for me to go and have dinner warna mess will close :D. Yeah, I am a metrosexual and I don't have any doubt in this and lets see what the life has to offer to this metrosexual "To live or not to live in a metro ;-)"

Enjoy

Life @ Final Year CSE Guy at IT-BHU - Part I

Hi All,

I am starting a thread of this post due to the size of the blog so the post is divided into some parts... here in this part I'll tell you briefly what I am gonna write in these threads although its quite clear from the topic... here in this first post you'll see the life till my first company interview... so read on and enjoy the novel written below ':P'...

Final Year of an Engineering Institute... huh... a different kind of feeling altogether.. feeling of being the ultimate senior among all the batches... feeling of being so close to the real world that stands infront of you at a distance of just one year... feeling of being able to do all the things that one thought he'll be doing whenever he is free... feeling of FREEDOM.

Here we go... in this post you'll be encountering to what does the Life @ Final Year CSE Guy at IT-BHU means. Its already over a month of my final year life... I haven't done much of the rocking things yet but still its over three-quater year left for me to rock IT-BHU.

It starts with the last day of summer vacation at the time when all the students are coming back from their respective summer internships / homes / masti bhari life etc etc and are gearing for the upcoming session and a mega - event of the engg life - campus placements ( CP ). On the first day of insti after getting registered for the new semester it felt to me that something has changed... people were looking more serious then ever... as if a wave of study ':p' has passed over them and they are looking keen to their career... observing more deeply their surroundings. Geez... that is really a different feeling... I never felt that way... aisa lag raha tha as if I was alone tension-free guy haha... ek baat se hamesha tension rahi hai mujhe ki 'MUJHE TENSION KYON NAHI HOTI ?' :d... log mar jaate hain tension karte karte aur yahan per chahte hue bhi tension nahi hoti ':('. New semester has started and we, the final yearites have every reason and right to bunk classes ':p' on the name of CP... although faculty has a different way of looking to the matter... but no comments on it presently :).

First week was quite normal, really eventless... people were talking about CP but no one was preparing for that... may be still making their mind to start study... slowly slowly the time passed and the dates of CP to start dragged near... it was a week when the first company was destined to come... infy SET Labs... bangy placed company it is... waise to har koi bangy jaana chahta hai but yahan per ulta hisab hai... i have been to bangalore for my summer internship for 2 months in may-june period and i simply didn't like the place (no offence made ':)')... aur thode din reh jaata to pakka bimar hokar hi aata... so obvs was not serious with that company... kher... the day arrived... i sat in the exam... had 0 preperation for the exam and don't know how but the written was cleared... man !!! what did they see in my ans sheet ??? why me ':(' ?... interview was 3 hours ahead... now starts the fight...

Firstly I didn't prepare for the interview... studied nothing, really nothing... and moreover my resume wasn't prepared... my dress wasn't there... my shoes weren't ready... tie too wasn't there... I had to collect my certis and grade cards too to make the file to be taken in the interview alongwith me... everything... really everthing had to be done in just three hours... god curse these company guys :d. Well I started to make a resume... resume making itself took an hour (since I didn't realized that dress etc also needs to get prepared... so was doing the things slowly slowly haha) after an hour when i was going for print outs of the resume, 'stop' shouted one of my frnd as he also wanted to go with me for printouts... everyone of us was same in the way of getting prepared in 11th hour ':)'... thik hai bhai tum bhi aa jao... another 15 min waste... 11 of us got through for the interview so branch vehicles bhi kam pad gaye the... so arrangement of vehicle was another problem... man, was getting really late there... so after getting the printouts it was already 1 hour 40 min over and just an hour left coz its not a good thing of being late to your first interview ':)'... now I needed a team-work to be able to reach for the interview in time.... here it goes... our branch is awesome whenever it comes to unity and teamwork... I asked someone to arrange for a tie (which afterward I got to know that I too have one)... somehow I found my certis and grade-cards from different places of my room... and here was realized the worst nightmare... two of the grade-cards were missing... shit ! shit ! where the hell are them ? abhi to yahi pade the ek min pehle... kya ho raha hai yaar... well... a search party was established and after 5-10 min a frnd came having them in his hand and said that i forgot them in someone's room a min before, careless me ':)'. Now by the time I already gave someone the task of getting my dress iron and some other fellow to arrange for a file in which certis will be placed and then to place my certis in that too... a real war-like situation. I myself started preparing for my shoes... time was tickling away very fast... every min was important... room to ek living hell mein transform ho chuka tha... kuch nahi samajh aa raha tha ki kya cheej kahan padi hai... by the time hershit was placing my certis in file I went to take bath and in between my dress also came and other things were also settled... 20 mins left now... I rushed back to the room got dressed... got into my shoes... someone (may be hershit) tied the tie to me while I was wearing shoes... combed hair etc etc and got ready completely for the interview.. tdaaa.. and that too just in time i.e. 5 min before my interview. I went to TPO still unprepared as far as academics are concerened and as I reached TPO someone came and called my name... i thanked god ki bhaiya time per aa gaya ':)' but to my dismay i was LATE... he said 'Where were you ? Your name has already called twice.' Man !!! kya ho raha hai... i saw my watch and still a min was left.. I said that I am here at the time I was supposed to come... but who listen to the last min excuses... kher... TPO first floor per gaya... they asked me to wait outside till the interview panel free the person they were busy with... a long wait... long long wait... I waited for 40 min before I was called in... aaj tak samajh nahi aaya ki us bande ne ye kyon kaha ki mera naam 2 baar announce ho gaya hai and I am very late for my interview... kher... as they say... company wala hai .. thik hi hoga ':p' haha.

THE INTERVIEW

A real adventure... more interesting than the interview preparation described above haha...
To Be Contd...

Three Legs Of The Tripod !!!

We all have (or atleast want to have) someone in our life with whom we can share our views, our feelings and our emotions. With whom we want to spend all of our time. Someone whose presence sometime becomes a need to you, a compulsion. Someone who cares about you and you know that you can rely on that person more than you. Yes, I can imagine what you are thinking. You are right in that sense too. But here I would like to talk about the similar kind of feeling that we all have in us, that we all deed... the feeling of being a friend to someone.

Its always nice to have some friends. Ofcourse you share most of the things with them and enjoy the life as it comes. But you always have some of your friends whom you say that those are your BEST PALS.... "Three Legs Of The Tripod" is also the story of we three best friends of those awesome VMC days. Myself, Chandan and Manoj were there in the Group-4 of VMC. We all joined VMC in phase-II. Earlier since everyone was a new face to us, so we just concentrated to those Bhaiya's classes... but as the time passed on... we got to know the students there at VMC. I used to sit in the first 3 rows there and Manoj also in the first 2-3 rows. Well I don't remember where Chandan used to sit earlier but it was surely not the front rows. The days again passed on and we got our result of UT-1... I did extremely poor (got 57 out of 150 :-) i think) and was laughing at my marks there when Manoj (a simple looking cool guy with a very desi look) came to me and asked how did I do in the test. What could I say ? told him the truth :-) and waited his response. As I said he was simple looking cool guy with the desi look and straight forward approach, so the response should also be somewhat desi and straight forward in that way itslf... he said "marks are not a problem, lets look ahead and see what we can do in the later test series". Just these lines worked out and after that we started discussing many things together. Chandan met Manoj before he met me so I was the last one in the gang.

Soon after that we used to stay there at VMC even hours after the classes... firstly to ask the "bhaiya log- bade bhaiya, phy. wale bhaiya and munna bhaiya" the questions related to the subject and then to discuss some points amongst us and also to roam those streets of Punjabi Bagh sometime. We used to sometime take even lunch with us from our homes and have them in VMC itself together. Those 2 years of VMC days just flew away and would never ever return back.

I miss those "aloo ke paranthe", those classes and scintillating days which layed out the staircase for my life and has provided me with the sweetest memories and those friends that will last for life time and will always remind me that there are some of the people who cares about you and will also remind me my responsiblity that there are some people whom I should care about .... who are always there as your support and whom I should support forever. Those days has build my background and those days has given me my identity. Those were the days who taught me how to walk and those were the days which showed me the path. Really I miss those days and miss them so desperately that I wish god to please return me atleast one of those days and let me live it again and I am ready to sacrifies anything for that day. I feel my soul is still there... I feel to go back there... Oh ! those lovely days !!!

So this was the whole story about what I feel about "Those Days" and probably you should have guessed by now whom I am reffering "The Three Legs Of The Tripod" to ..yeah me, Manoj and Chandan.

I m Back !!!

Hi guys,
Exams are over and I have reached here at IISc Bangalore for my summer internship (gee, summer internship to ek bahana hai... sabhi jaante hain ki Bangalore mein mast mast jagah hain ghoomne ko... but psst don't tell it to any one there involved my project :-) ).

So itne dino mein ek choti si kahani to ban hi gayi hai aap sab ke liye.. so plz bare with me and listen:

I came here in bang on 7th may... but there was a SERIOUS problem regarding my acco here at IISc.. but every thing is settled now. You won't believe it... we are a full gang of more than 10 people here to rock the IT capital of India.

My life is again rocking here... i go to dept at around 9:30 am in the morning and a really hot babe (yeah presently its a coincidence but sooner it won't be) goes with me to some distance. I didn't talk to her on first day but from the second day we got to know each other.. her name is Sonali and she is from noida... although as you all know how stupid i am.. i didn't even ask her in which dept she is working here :-) and the only point where i meet her is the way to dept.. but jaisa ki Saif Ali Khan ne "Hum Tum" mein kaha hai ki "mulakaat to hogi hi kyonki ye dunia bahut choti hai aur ye jindagi bahut badi" i think i'll ask her for dinner by this weekend. So wish me luck and also pray that she is not engaged, haha :-). Will update you her pics if possible. Tab tak ke liye aapka pyara Aryan aapse vida lena chahega.

Namaskaar.

Aaj mein tuwanu ek story dasanga... te meri es story da shirshak hai "Meinu Ghar Jaana Sii...". Tusi sab jande ho ki kar (Ghar) ki sadi jindagi witch kinni ehmiyat hai. Kar saanu ren (rehne) de layi jagah denda (deta) hai, maa-baap da pyar denda hai, chote te vade bhra-ben da pyar denda hai. Kar hone te jeevan witch khusian aandi hain and most important ye hai ke kar witch sanu koi kaam karne di koi load nahi hondi hai. Kar mein jo maa hoti hai wo saare kaam sade waste kar dendi hai.

Te doston, meri jindagi witch vi aaj ye mauka aaya tha ki mein us Kar namak jagah ke darshan kar loon aur kuch labh utha loon per tusi believe nahi karoge ki ek muski namak prani ki vajah ton aaj mein us swarg ke darshan ko late ho gaya hoon. O doston, twade layi : muski mera roomy haiga, 1st year da room partner. Par kuch bhi kaho mera to time waste ho gaya na.

Te doston, isde saath mein hun widai chahvanga and gusarish karaanga ki mere layi kuch dua shua kar do taaki mein Kar jald to jald ponch saku.

A Day of Happenings and again a lonely night...

Hi to you all there.....
Well friends,
What is the meaning of the life ?? Can any one tell me ? Why are we here ?? What are we doing ?? What are we supposed to do ?? I just can't figure out the answer to these questions.
Why is it so that sometimes the day goes wonderful and suddenly at some point of time at evening you feel very lonely. You feel that there is some emptiness, something missing. There are lots of things to do, lots of work left, lots of stones are there which are still unturned and lots of miles to cover... but still you feel of absolutely not doing anything, you feel that some trap has grabbed you, some web or so and you ABSOLUTELY DON'T DO ANYTHING.
Why is this that after being surrounded by lots and lots of friends, still you feel that there is something missing. I know that you must have got bored by now, but this is what I am feeling I can say presently coz its so boring out here and there is absolutely nothing i can do for it.
I think i am missing some thing... haan your comments. please solve this mystery for me.
Thanx

One point someone should not do at IT-BHU !!!

Hi all,
Hey aajkal mere saath kuch badi hi ajeeb si ghatnaein ho rahi hain jinka abstract kuch is prakar hai: Whenever I go to do some work, in between the execution of the work, some other more important work comes up. So I go under context switching by saving the present state of the currently going work and handing over the processor to the new work. But that new work never follows the hard real-time scheduling constraints and go under soft real-time work process and takes much more time than its deadline, result to which, i have to pay the cost involved with that :-).

Aaj bhi kuch aisi hi ghatna hui, class se nikla pani peene and due to some urgent work waapas class hi na ja paaya. I think I have hurt the teacher, sorry sir.

Hope ye sab aapke saath nahi ho raha hoga. Bhagwan aapke scheduler ko is tareh ke processes ko schedule karne se bachae. And I request you guys to prey for me so that I may not become someone's prey sometime :-).

Thanx

Technex 2005

Hi all,
Recently a very important event of my institute has ended. It is known as Technex 2005. It is the technical competition and is organised at the national level. Technex 2005 was a hit this time and we got a great response from the other institutes and schools. 2 IITs and more than 20 NITs and other institutes participated in this event.
In the basic terminology Technex is divided in two parts: formal and informal. In these sections we have a wide variety of competitions such as modex (model making competition), paper presentation, software section, predefined problems, overnight programming competition etc. We all participated in our own way to make it a success :-).
My batchmates have won many prizes in this and its a time for little celebration here :-).
Will update you with some more information about the other events of the insti.
Thanx
