Looks Like We Have Made It

Hi All,

Today was the big day for all of us coz we attended probably the last class of our B.Tech. life :). The life @ IT-BHU till today was full of joy, sorrow, kicks, memorable events, building up the personality, exposure and not to be left the part of being in the holy city, Varanasi, for four years. All in one it can be said that the trip to this great institution has a great impact of all of ours lives and will definitely affect our future endeavors in a way or another. IT-BHU has provided us with a huge parivaar with whom can we share our thoughts & feelings and take guidance at any point of time in our life.

At this point (being a regular audience of Smallville Series), I remember one of the song of the series, Denial of Destiny, having lyrics...

"Looks like we have made it, look how far we have come up baby. No matter took the long way.. we knew we'll get there some day. They say all day, we'll never make it but just look at how strong we've come. We'll stay together.. still always strong."

...as if it was scripted for us only :).

Its around three weeks more left for us to stay in the campus and I would like to tell all my batchmates a very best of luck for their lives ahead and would also ask them to remember their alma-mater for good for this being the place like a staircase to lead our way to success.

Divide & Rule

Hi All,

Sorry for the long delay in publishing any new post. Thanx to insti's network which wasn't allowing me to publish any post in the last month :P... wrote many posts but couldn't publish it and its now late to publish them :)... anyways first of all a news flash : IMG (Information Management Group) of my institute which maintains the official site of the insti http://www.itbhu.ac.in/ is on its final stage of its work to launch the new version of the site. We are expecting to up the site in 3-4 days. Now coming to the main topic of today's post...

Divide & Rule. Long Long Ago, Britishers came to India and saw its wealthy civilization. They saw how innocent the people were here in India. With Atithi Devo Bhava as the slogan they used to welcome each and every person that came on the doorsteps irrespective of the fact who he was. Britishers came here and were welcomed too. Having seen such a wealthy civilization in front of them they couldn't resist their instinct to use its resources for their own evil purpose. They also knew that with the society as large as India its not possible for them to conquer it with straight fight. So they waited till they deviced a strong method of rule India. Soon after sometime of their stay here they found one of the most important loop-hole of Indian Society. They found that people weren't united in the sense that the king of the state A is willing to fight the king of state B to destroy him if he could... because they didn't share the same thinking ??? Anyways, Britishers provided the weapons to the weak king so that he could win the other state. With the strong side out of the game the weak side is automatically captured... also due to the reason of being helped by British empire and also due to the reason that they are weak enough of being captured. Slowly and Slowly they took over the whole of India, the consequences of which is a history which we all know.

Now what's my purpose of telling this story to all of you ? Simple !!! Just take a simple analogy of this very fact with the current India by replacing the Britishers with the current leaders of India and Indian kings with the current Indian public. History repeats itself. With this new law of increasing the quota percentage to the higher education the leaders are doing exactly the same thing in dividing India into many castes and then ruling this great nation. With this new law enforced, undoubtedly the vote bank will be affected greatly and the direct result is the benifit of our great leaders and politicians only. If they really want to help the needy ones then it should be based on the poverty and not on caste. Cast system always had a bad effect on the society and its like the bug that slowly but surely hampers the success of the nation. I am not against any individual caste but I am against this whole discrimination of the Indian society based on caste. We are all one, we are Indians. Aren't there many lower caste people in India which are rich and doesn't require reservation ? Isn't it the case that many many higher caste people are below the poverty line and really require some help from the government side but aren't getting any ? Isn't it the duty of the leaders to help THE REAL NEEDY ONES and not just one caste or another ? Why is it so that once the help is granted to any person to raise his standard of living using this quota system the help is granted again and again to his later generations too ? Do they really need that then ? Why is it so that the reservations are not there in the primary education which is the basic and the most important thing and are directly included in the higher education ? How can a person possibly compete at the higher level if he isn't having the basic and primary education with him ? Why is it so that the things are on their way to give the reservation even in the jobs sector ? Once the help is provided in getting firstly the education and the higher education(graduation even in India's topmost colleges in EVERY field) then even in much higher education (post graduation) and the highest level too (PhD etc) it is ensured that the person is now SO MUCH EDUCATED that atleast he can earn himself. Then why are they given preferences in the jobs too ? Isn't it the more-than-sufficient share that is provided to them ? Again I am not against any individual caste but this really hurts watching such an unjustice being done to other people. If the thing continues like this then its for sure that the brain-drain will again happen and this time on a much more massive scale because this is the failure of the Indian government to satisfy the need of the time, to build more institutions of higher education and provide more seats to study to the students. But what are they doing otherwise ? They are just increasing the tension in the society where increase in the number of seats is a dream and in reality people are ready to kill others for the current number of seats as they are decreasing because of the hippocracy of this government.
